Leroy Liburd took home the trophy at the 2010 Dragfest during Nevis Culturama.   Drag racing in Nevis you ask?   Yes!!!   Although Nevis is a small island it draws drag racers from many of its surrounding islands which do not offer a  drag racing facility.  In fact, Minister of Sports on Nevis, the Hon Hensley Daniel, recently expressed his interest in marketing this national treasure in regional and international markets.

The winner of this year's Dragfest, Leroy Liburd, hails from St. Maarten.  Leroy Liburd and his team were simply ecstatic over the win and spent some time with the Red Carpet Shelley team in the winner's circle.

Wyclef Jean's recent proclamation to the world that he is runnng for president of Haiti has garnered much ado on both sides of the fence.   From my perspective, it appears that Mr. Jean is definitely well liked, well received and certainly well positioned (that's the good news)!  However, there are many politicos and popular celebrity pundits who believe that while Wyclef is passionate about his birth country of Haiti, he's no leader.

Nevis Culturama 2010 went down earlier this month and Mr. Vegas was the main attraction at the International Night of Stars! His star was definitely shining brightly as the women in the audience fell under his spell. Pop the hood and check out the pics!
