Over the weekend, the Housewives of Atlanta held a Costume Ball in McDonough, GA. All five stars of the hit Bravo show were to be in attendance however, there was one glaring absentee, NeNe. Not only was Nene absent but the housewives were all very Tardy for the Party!!  The costume ball was to begin at 9pm however guests of honor didn't arrive until after midnight. That being said, upon arrival, all of the Housewives (and one husband!) were extremely kind to their fans and posed for endless pictures.  Kandi was dressed as a roller skater straight out of the movie ATL.  Ed and Lisa Hartwell were dressed as pirates, Sheree as a Greek goddess and Kim Lil Bo Peep (or Dorothy from Wizard of Oz based upon her sparkly Christian Louboutin shoes.  Hmm, if she clicks her shoes three times I wonder if she goes home to Big Papa??)

burrisPolice have arrested Fredrick Richardson, an employee at the strip club Body Top, in connection with A.J. Jewell's death. Richardson has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.  A.J. is the ex-fiance of Real Housewife of Atlanta Kandi Burruss. See original story.

Kandi Burruss' ex-fiance, Ashley "A.J." Jewell was killed last night in Atlanta.  According to Fox 5 News, A.J. got into a fight at Body Tap (a local strip club) and "suffered a severe head injury".  A.J. was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  No arrests have been made yet.
Kandi Burruss  who stars on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" had been rumored to be reconciling with A.J. however I saw her on Thursday night at a celebrity bowling event and she was not wearing her engagement ring.       My heart goes out to Kandi, she is having a terrible week, her uncle died recently and today is the funeral.

Kandi sent tweets to her fans to let everyone know how she felt:

im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk, i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.

I could never n a million years imagine this happening. please pray for AJ's children. that's who im the most concerned 4

im bout 2 giv my swollen eyes sum rest now. i just wanted to say thanks 2 every1 for their prayers. i gotta get up & go 2 my uncle's funeral

My condolences to Kandi and A.J.'s families.

Ok, let's face it when we first heard the "Don't Be Tardy for the Party" last season on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, we had a good chuckle at Kim Zolciak's expense. But thanks to RHOA's newest addition, Kandi Burruss, and her music producing acumen, the newly remixed version is very catchy. I have to admit, a few times, I caught myself humming the tune!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show yesterday. The foul-mouthed, Atlanta fashionistas (or trashionistas depending on who you ask) took no time to get to arguing. Sheree and Kim decided to come out swinging with verbal assaults and Ellen literally jumped in between the two. Its getting so bad that I'm really starting to believe that most of their antics are contrived. I think a lot of the over zealous in feuding is so ridiculous it has to be staged, and these women all deserve Oscars.

Many have argued that these ladies give black women a bad name (I guess some haven't noticed that Kim is not black). I disagree with this viewpoint.
For the record, they do not represent me, black women, white women or any other women for that matter. These women only represent five women living in Atlanta (oh get over it Duluth is still metro Atlanta!) providing juicy fodder for gossip tabloids and celebrity bloggers. They deliver over-the-top, entertaining altercations more often than not and this drauma drives ratings (drama + trauma = drauma!). Yes, its all about the ratings and that's why I don't believe most of the fights currently being played out are authentic. Clearly, some of the confrontations begin from real disagreements but I think these women are being scripted by producers and prodded to be as ridiculously bithcy and argumentative as possible. To some degree, they are being pimped. And, no different from a hooker on the stroll, these ladies are addicted to their pimp. They need the job security and, of course, the money and the pimp gets his piece of the action!

Hey, I am not mad at these women. They are enterprising and recognize that 15 minutes of fame is fleeting. These ladies don't represent me anymore than O.J. Simpson represents Obama. And, by the way, I won't stop watching! Who doesn't like to watch drauma in someone else's life???

By the way, an RCS shout out to Kim's hairstylist - the wig is finally on point!
