Chris Brown sat down with Robin Roberts of ABC to discuss his reaction to her recent Rihanna interview. The interview will be aired in its entirety on 20/20 December 4, 2009 at 10pm EST. However, today a preview of the interview was played on Good Morning America. Chris, often accused of being insincere, appeared very moved and visibly shaken as Robin Roberts re-played a snippet of the Rihanna interview for him. Chris told Robin "I never was that kind of person. I look at it and its really like how could I be that person."
Looking a bit Sharon Stone in "Basic Instinct", a very poised Rihanna discussed all the details of her beating at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, pop star Chris Brown. The interview with Diane Sawyer aired Friday on 20/20. Rihanna has drawn her line in the sand - she is not a victim! She has made it clear that she is "strong" and would not take part in continuing an abusive relationship. The 21 year old singer admits that she still cares for Chris Brown and it is very apparent however her resolve to move forward is even more pronounced. Rihanna said "Eff Love,....Love is So Blind". Pop the hood and watch the video...
After months of silence, Bajan pop star, Rihanna spoke with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. The interview, a teaser for the real deal interview to air tomorrow on 20/20, showed an emotional Rihanna explaining how she felt embarrassed by what happened on that unforgettable night . Rihanna said "don't react off of love, F love!". She explained that leaving Chris was important to her because of the message it sent to young girls if she remained in an abusive relationship. It is clear that she takes her role model status seriously and realizes how her off stage behavior can influence young girls' lives. The most startling moment for me is that Rihanna said she was embarrassed. Rihanna has no reason to be embarrassed, Chris Brown is the culprit and the one who should be embarrassed. I applaud Rihanna for taking responsbility for her actions i.e. going back to Chris even after the brutal attack. This is an empowering message to young women everywhere. Rihanna is making it clear that she will not be the victim and she doesn't want any other young woman to be one either. Its a powerful message and I'm glad that she has embraced her (albeit "unrealistic") role model status by breaking her silence.
After months and months of silence, Rihanna speaks. We all thought we would have heard from her at the court case of the century but Chris Brown stole her thunder by pleading guilty. Now, Rihanna will hold court on ABC and all eyes will be on the Bajan pop star.
She will be on Good Morning America on Thursday (7AM-9AM) and 20/20 on Friday at 10 PM EST. The ish is about to hit the fan!!!!!!
Yesterday, Chris Brown began his community labor for assaulting Rihanna last February. Why did Chris Breezy show up wearing a wife beater? And, to add insult to injury (pun intended!), he then puts the picture on Twitter. I guess Chris didn't see the irony in that! Anyhoo, you can find Breezy cleaning up weeds and debris somewhere in Virginia (here he is pictured at a horse farm). Breezy, where a teeshirt next time ok??
After recently pleading guilty to felony assault for his post-Grammy attack on Rihanna, yesterday Chris Brown was sentenced. Brown is fortunate and will not have to serve jail time. He will serve five years probation and perform 1,400 hours community labor. Mr. Brown will have to stay 100 yards away from the pop star. Brown will also receive much needed domestic violence counseling. Hopefully, Brown who recently apologized for his actions, will benefit from the court ordered counseling and eventually get his career back on track. In his apology last month, Chris asked for forgiveness "I have told Rihanna countless times, and I'm telling you today, that I'm truly, truly sorry in that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better," Brown said. "What I did was unacceptable, 100 percent. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me. Please."
The community "labor" will be performed in his home state of Virginia so don't litter the streets of Virginia or Chris Breezy may have to clean up your mess!
