El DeBarge has voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation center to deal with issues stemming from many years of substance abuse.  "I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone. I thank everyone in advance for their prayers and well wishes and hope that you will respect my privacy during this time," stated DeBarge.

Forget about Who Wants to Work for Diddy, I want to be adopted by Diddy!!  Diddy, aka Puff Daddy, aka Sean Combs, aka P. Diddy, aka, Puffy, (ok, you get the idea he's ridiculous with the name changes!) had a huge sweet sixteen birthday party for his son Justin at New York's M2 Ultralounge.  Justin Dior Combs' party will undoubtedly be the piece de la resistance for this season of  MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen. As if having an Atlanta restaurant named after you isn't enough, Justin received a silver Maybach for his birthday gift.    Let me repeat that.   Sixteen year old, Justin Combs got a Maybach for his birthday!!!!   This is proof in the pudding that the recession is over and that we have overcome!!!

Amid Tiger Woods' growing scandal, management consulting firm Accenture became the first major sponsor to completely drop Tiger Woods.  On their website Accenture stated  "given the circumstances of the last two weeks ... the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising."   Gillette, another major Tiger Woods sponsor, has decided to "limit" Tiger's role.   Tiger reportedly earns $25MM annually in golfing revenues and $90MM in sponsorship.   If  more sponsors begin to follow suit, Tiger will definitely suffer huge financial losses.  The ad displayed here was one of the Accenture ads...how prophetic!

Tiger Woods announced over the weekend via his website that he would be taking a leave of absence from his much beloved sport of golf.  "After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person,"  .  Also, on his website was his first use of the word "infidelity" .   Previously, Tiger used the word "'transgression".

Wyclef Jean came to Atlanta recently to promote his new line of Timberland boots called Earthkeepers.  Wyclef partnered with Timberland to promote the eco-friendly Timberland boots to help support the reforestation of Wyclef's homeland of Haiti.  Timberland also will sell T-shirts designed by Haitian children and a new line of organic shirts and hats will be sold at Jean’s concerts.  Partial proceeds from the boot sales will go toward the Yéle Haiti Foundation which was founded by Wyclef' in 2005.

Wyclef was very approachable and talkative with his adoring fans.  He was patient as he took countless pictures and took some time with everyone - young, old, male, female it didn't matter.  He is the truth.  Wyclef has always been one of the most outspoken supporters of Haiti and puts his money where his mouth is by enlisting countless other entertainers to espouse his cause and, most importantly, raise much needed awareness and money for the island of Haiti.   Social activism for the benefit of Haiti is not just his talk, its his walk, its his life mission.  Yéle Haiti Foundation is "a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment."  I am a huge fan of Wyclef and if you're looking for an organization to support,  Yele Haiti is a good place to start.
