Miami Carnival went down recently in sunny Miami, FL at Bicentennial Park. For as long as I can remember, each year Carnival in Miami actually meant two carnivals: Miami and Fort Lauderdale. This year there was only one carnival and it was in Miami. It was the 25th anniversary of Miami Carnival and what better way to commemorate than to have masqueraders and carnival attendees gathered for ONE carnival.
As I approached Bicentennial Park for this historic Carnival, I knew it would be memorable! The traffic (as usual!) was horrendous. Imagine, everyone from Miami Carnival plus everyone who used to attend Fort Lauderdale Carnival and for good measure, through in an event at the American Airlines Arena!!! You can imagine that tempers flared, patience was short but it all seemed irrelevant as the music blared and the libations flowed!
Despite a few issues with internet ticketing, truck positioning and sheer magnitude of the merging of two carnivals, I think it was a success. Enjoy the photos and see you next year!!!!
